The Yankees are kicking the Indians while they’re down.
After coming back from an 0-2 hole and winning Game 5 of the ALDS to end Cleveland’s season, the Bombers took to social media to make the Indians’ three straight losses hurt even more.
“Final: Yankees 5, The Team That Blew A 2-0 Series Lead 2,” the Yankees’ Instagram account posted after the win along with a photo of CC Sabathia smiling.
They then took to Twitter to drag the Indians, in particular Jose Ramirez, even more.

“We like cupcakes. And champagne,” they wrote, quote tweeting a Jose Ramirez post from earlier in the week about the Indians recording a 3-0 record at Yankee Stadium during the regular season.
“We’re 3-0 at Yankee Stadium this year cupcake,” was what Ramirez wrote.
The Indians have not responded.
Our memorable season comes to an end.October 12, 2017
Their last social media post was on Twitter thanking fans for a “memorable season.”
The Yankees responded to that tweet early Thursday with a clip of Sabathia saluting along with a caption.
"In all seriousness, congrats to you guys on an amazing season," the team posted. "It was a hard fought battle to the end! Until we meet again..."
The Yankees later quote tweeted their own reply, writing, "Social media jabs are fun, but mad respect to the @Indians on a historic season and a great series."
Cleveland started the war of words between both teams earlier in the season.
After Jay Bruce hit a home run in Game 1 to put the Indians ahead 3-0, the team tweeted, "Bruce is on our team because our owner wrote a check that competitors for Jay wouldn't."
The post referenced the Yankees' failed attempt to trade with the Mets to acquire Jay Bruce earlier in the season.
The Yankees got the last laugh.
